Ask Life Encouraged by Urmston Residential Sales

Place North West

22/04/2008

Ask Life reported sales of nine flats, totalling £1.2m, on the opening day of marketing for Eden Square, a development of 80 apartments in Urmston, Manchester.

All buyers were people who had put their names on a reservation list from the first phase, which contained 56 flats.

Ask targeted residents from Urmston, Flixton, and Davyhulme for the initial wave of sales, at around £115,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £150,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. The aparments are due for completion in spring 2009.

The apartments are central to a wider scheme to redevelop Urmston shopping centre, which is being led by Ask Developments and Trafford Council, including a new 50,000 sq ft Sainsbury's food store, a new library, car parking and 28 shops.

Sian Pitt, head of sales at Ask Life, said: "With demand for the first phase so high we're expecting interest in the second phase to be equally great. Despite the current lull in the residential market, the transformation of the location coupled with Ask Life's commitment to providing quality, luxurious apartments, we're expecting that people will buy into the medium to long-term investment of a town centre scheme like this."
